Arrive Guwahati → Shillong
Drive to Shillong via the Umiam lake viewpoint. Evening at Police Bazaar.

Cherrapunji
Nohkalikai Falls, the Mawsmai limestone caves, Arwah cave and the Seven Sisters Falls. Overnight near Cherrapunji.

Nongriat root bridges
Descend around 3,000 steps to the double-decker living-root bridge and the natural pools at Rainbow Falls. A proper hiking day.

Dawki & Mawlynnong
Boat on the transparent Umngot river at Dawki (Bangladesh border), then 'Asia's cleanest village', Mawlynnong. Back to Shillong.

Shillong → Kaziranga
Long scenic drive into Assam and the tea belt. Check in to a lodge near Kaziranga National Park.

Kaziranga safaris
Early jeep safari in the central range for one-horned rhino, wild buffalo and elephants; a second safari or a tea-estate walk in the afternoon.

Kaziranga → Guwahati
Drive to Guwahati. Evening Brahmaputra river cruise and the Kamakhya temple.

Depart
Transfer to Guwahati airport.
