Goa
Beach shacks, Latin quarters and long lunches
Why go
Goa splits neatly in two. The north — Assagao, Anjuna, Vagator — is where the design hotels, beach clubs and the best breakfast spots are, an easy scooter ride from the Saturday night market. The south — Palolem, Agonda, Cavelossim — is slower, greener and better for families, with wide clean beaches and not much to do but that. We usually base you in one and take you to the other for a day. Add Old Goa's cathedrals and a Mandovi backwater trip to round it out.
Trip highlights
- North Goa café and beach-club trail
- South Goa's quiet beaches — Palolem, Agonda
- Old Goa cathedrals and Fontainhas, Panjim
- Spice plantation lunch and a Mandovi river cruise
